Bridge Pride International Non-Profit

Bridging the Gap.

Home Page:

Bridge Pride International was founded by Selena Blake in 2006 after Ms. Blake completed the documentary Queensbridge: The Other Side in December of 2005, She wanted to show a positive side to public housing starting with Queensbridge where she currently resides. She felt the need to give back to her community by making the documentary and by creating Bridge Pride International strictly for folks living in public housing 5 years or more, after seeing so many young people in public housing, just hanging out on the corner, holding down the block and  with limited resources at their fingertips, she wanted to interject hope and inspiration into their line of sight by offering them a different option than what they see on the corner on a daily basis.

Our mission:

Bridge Pride International mission is to assemble a group of professionals with a stated purpose of “bridging the gap” by developing various educational/arts programs and creating professional opportunities for public housing residents specifically inner-city youth- and thereby allowing them to tap into resources other than some of the options that they are exposed to in the streets.

Guiding Bridge Pride International's journey are jointly shared values: Our Children, Integrity, Education, Financial Empowerment, Career Development and taking Responsibility for one's actions.

Bridge Pride International is currently calibrating with MayNov Productions and Ms. Blake on a new documentary tiled: MUST YOU? MUST YOU! Must you pee in the elevator? Must you destroy where you live and play? Must you! the documenatry deals with some of these disgusting issues/habits that are currently facing the residents of public housing that might possible be harmful to the mental heath and wellness of our young people whom are expose to this kind of deplorable quality of life on a daily basis. for more information go to www.mustyoumustyou.com
